The institution's online and blended programs lived on a separate site. Most of its search visibility still came from the parent brand, so learners comparing online options found aggregators and competitors first. Program pages were thin on the details people search for, such as format, duration, fees and outcomes.
We structured every program page around what learners compare, and connected the online site properly to the rest of the institution.
Relying on the parent brand left online programs hidden in comparison searches. Pages built for those searches changed that.
Learners compare format, duration, schedule and outcomes. Putting those first made pages more useful and more likely to rank.
Linking the online site from the institution's main pages and between related programs passed authority to the pages that needed it.
They often sit on a separate site with few internal links and thin details, so search engines see little authority or relevance. Fixing both usually helps.
Either can work. What matters is strong internal linking from the main site and complete, comparison-ready pages.
Structural fixes and better pages often lift impressions within a few months, with clicks following as positions improve.
