We asked ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity four questions Delhi NCR parents ask: the best schools in Delhi, the best CBSE schools in Gurgaon, the best CBSE schools in Noida and the best preschools in Gurgaon. Across 12 answers they named 147 schools, and agreed on very few: for Noida, not a single school was named by all three. The answers lean on school directories and listing sites far more than on schools' own websites. For parents, AI is a starting list, not a verdict; for schools, being named depends on directories, reviews and clear facts, not just reputation.
What we asked and how
This is the Delhi NCR cut of our wider study, AI visibility in Indian education 2026, which asked three AI assistants 42 questions Indian students and parents ask. For this report we took the four Delhi NCR school questions and looked at every school named, which assistants agreed, and which sources they cited. It is part of our work on Higher education and school visibility, and the full method is in the main study.
- Questions: "Best schools in Delhi", "Best CBSE schools in Gurgaon", "Best CBSE schools in Noida", "Best preschools in Gurgaon".
- Assistants: ChatGPT (gpt-4.1), Gemini (2.5 Flash) and Perplexity (Sonar), all with web search on and set to India.
- When: 1 November 2026, one run. AI answers change from day to day, so treat this as a snapshot, not a ranking.
- Counting: group brands with many branches (for example Delhi Public School) count as one name per answer.

Best schools in Delhi
The three assistants named 36 different schools. Six were named by all three: Delhi Public School, Modern School, Springdales School, St. Columba's School, The Shri Ram School and Vasant Valley School. Schools named by two of the three included Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute, Bal Bharati Public School, Nirmal Bhartia School and Sanskriti School. The most cited sources were EducationWorld, SchoolMyKids and Wikipedia.
Best CBSE schools in Gurgaon
This question produced the longest lists: 44 different schools. Five were named by all three: DAV Public School, Delhi Public School, Lotus Valley International School, Manav Rachna International School and Shiv Nadar School. Named by two included Heritage Xperiential Learning School, K.R. Mangalam World School and Salwan Public School. Justdial was the most cited source, followed by Edustoke.
Best CBSE schools in Noida
The assistants named 32 schools and agreed on none: no school appeared in all three answers. Named by two included Apeejay School, Bal Bharati Public School and Cambridge School. Sources were spread across Edustoke, Careers360, Ezyschooling, Justdial and Yellow Slate. For a Noida school, this is the clearest sign that AI visibility is still open to win.
Best preschools in Gurgaon
The assistants named 35 preschools. Three were named by all three: Dibber International Preschool, FirstCry Intellitots Preschool and iDiscoveri Preschool. Named by two included Anand Preschool, Bachpan Play School, Cambridge Montessori and Footprints. Justdial was cited most, then Yellow Slate and EducationWorld, which suggests listings and reviews matter even more for preschools.
| Question | Schools named | Named by all three | Most cited sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best schools in Delhi | 36 | 6 | EducationWorld, SchoolMyKids, Wikipedia |
| Best CBSE schools in Gurgaon | 44 | 5 | Justdial, Edustoke |
| Best CBSE schools in Noida | 32 | 0 | Edustoke, Careers360, Ezyschooling |
| Best preschools in Gurgaon | 35 | 3 | Justdial, Yellow Slate, EducationWorld |
What the assistants read
Across all school questions in the study, ChatGPT and Perplexity cited 188 sources in 22 answers. About 6 in 10 were school directories and listing portals such as Edustoke, Justdial, Yellow Slate, EducationWorld, Ezyschooling and SchoolMyKids. Only about 1 in 20 pointed to a school's own website. When the assistants explained why a school was good, they mentioned academics and faculty most, then global exposure, campus and facilities, and brand and legacy. Fees came up rarely.
Sources AI assistants use for school answers, from most to least cited. 4 levels, top to bottom:
- Directories and listing portals: Edustoke, Justdial, Yellow Slate, EducationWorld
- Google profiles and reviews: map listings, ratings, parent reviews
- Rankings, news and Wikipedia: school rankings, press
- The school’s own website: rarely cited; facts must be clear to be used
What this means for parents
- Use AI for a starting list, not a final answer. Three assistants gave three different lists.
- Check the facts on the school's own page: board, fees range, transport areas, admission dates.
- Read recent reviews and visit. No list replaces a campus tour.
- Ask more specific questions: "CBSE schools in Sector 57 Gurgaon with transport from Golf Course Road" gets more useful answers than "best schools".
What this means for schools
- Get listed and complete on the directories AI reads, with the same name, address, board, grades and fees range everywhere.
- Keep a strong Google Business Profile for every campus and a steady flow of answered reviews.
- Put the facts on your own campus page in plain text: board, affiliation, grades, fees range, transport, results with the year.
- Earn mentions in rankings and local news with results, achievements and events.
- Check what the assistants say every month for the questions parents in your area ask.
Our guides on SEO for schools and Google Business Profile for schools cover each step.
